flora
A fusion of natural elegance and contemporary design, the collection possesses that “magic touch” recognized in VanDuysen’s creations –something that inspires wonder. “The Flora project took shape organically from my desire to create atimeless collection with a subtle nostalgic reference to memory” – Vincent Van Duysen. The result is a series with a visual identity capable of integrating into any environment.
The handles give the collection a strong character: from a bold, graphic version to a more sober and versatile one, all of them always maintain a tactile quality and a distinct visual identity.

Who designed the Fantini Flora range?
The Fantini Flora range was designed by renowned Belgian architect and designer Vincent Van Duysen for the Italian tap manufacturer Fantini Rubinetti. Van Duysen is known for creating architecture and products that balance contemporary design with timeless, understated elegance. Fantini describes Flora as a highly tactile and ergonomic collection, with its handles being one of its most distinctive design elements.
The Flora collection reflects Van Duysen’s approach through its carefully considered proportions, soft industrial character and sensual, tactile forms. Rather than creating a tap that is purely decorative, the design focuses on how the fitting looks, feels and functions when used. This makes Flora particularly suitable for sophisticated bathroom interiors where tapware is considered an integral part of the overall design.
What finishes is the Fantini Flora range available in?
The Fantini Flora range is available in a selection of finishes designed to complement different bathroom styles and material palettes. Fantini currently lists Chrome, Polished Nickel PVD, Matt Gun Metal PVD, Mokka PVD, Brushed Steel Look PVD and Brushed Stainless Steel among the finishes and materials available for the Flora series.
These finishes allow Flora to work across a broad range of bathroom interiors. Chrome provides a classic and highly versatile appearance, while Polished Nickel PVD offers a warmer, more refined metallic character. Matt Gun Metal PVD creates a darker contemporary look, while Mokka PVD introduces a warmer, earthy tone. Brushed Steel Look PVD and Brushed Stainless Steel provide understated brushed-metal aesthetics that can work particularly well in contemporary and minimalist spaces.
The exact finish availability can vary according to the individual Flora product or configuration, so the selected model should always be checked before specification.
What handle shapes are available for the Fantini Flora range?
One of the most distinctive features of Fantini Flora is its choice of handle designs. The collection was developed with three distinct handle options, allowing the same overall design language to be expressed through different handle shapes and proportions.
Fantini describes the handle variations as designs with one, two and four “wings” or projections. These variations provide different visual expressions while maintaining the ergonomic character of the Flora collection. The unusual cross-section of the handle can also create different visual impressions depending on the viewing angle and perspective.
This makes the handle selection an important part of specifying Flora. Instead of having only one standard control shape, designers can select the option that best suits the desired aesthetic and the wider bathroom scheme.
Where can I see the Fantini Flora range in South Africa?
In South Africa, the Fantini Flora range can be viewed through LAVO Bathroom Concepts in Cape Town. LAVO’s showroom specialises in designer bathroom products and lists Fantini Rubinetti among its key brands. LAVO states that its showroom provides customers with the opportunity to experience bathroom products in person, including assessing the proportions and feel of different taps.
The LAVO Bathroom Concepts showroom is located at 2 Gordon Street, Gardens, Cape Town. For customers considering Fantini Flora, visiting the showroom provides an opportunity to discuss the available models, finishes and handle configurations with the LAVO team and determine which option is appropriate for a particular bathroom project.
For the most current information about which Flora products and finishes are physically displayed, it is advisable to contact LAVO before visiting.
Overall, the Fantini Flora collection by Vincent Van Duysen offers a combination of Italian manufacturing, tactile design, multiple handle options and a considered selection of finishes. This makes it a strong choice for contemporary and luxury bathroom projects where the tap is intended to contribute significantly to the overall interior design.
