Lavo Bathroom Concepts respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Who is responsible for your information

What we collect

• When you order: your name, email address, telephone number, and your delivery address if you choose delivery, plus the products you bought and any order notes.
• When you make an enquiry or request a quote: your name, email address, telephone number if you give it, your message and the products or list concerned.
• When you create an account: your name, email address and a password, which we store only in encrypted (hashed) form. We also keep the wishlists you create and any notes you add to them.
• When you email a list to someone: the email addresses you enter and your optional message, used only to send that email.
• Payments: card payments are processed by Yoco. Your card details go directly to the payment provider and are never seen or stored by us. We receive confirmation that the payment was successful.

Why we use it

We use your information to process and deliver your order, to answer your enquiries and prepare quotes, to run your account and wishlists, to send the emails you ask for (such as order confirmations and shared lists), to keep proper business and tax records, and to keep this website secure. We process it because it is necessary to carry out your order or request, because the law requires it, or because it is in our legitimate interest to run and improve our business. We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as far as necessary with the service providers who help us run the shop: our card payment provider, the courier who delivers your order, our website hosting provider, our email provider, and Google Analytics as described below. These providers may only use your information to provide their service to us. We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses a small number of cookies that it needs to work: to keep your basket and wishlist, to keep you signed in (including an optional "remember me" cookie), and to protect forms against misuse. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are popular. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes information about your visit, which may be stored on servers outside South Africa. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the shop still works for browsing, but the basket and sign in need cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes. We keep enquiries and quote requests for as long as they are useful for dealing with your project, and account information until you ask us to close your account. After that we delete or anonymise it.

How we protect it

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, passwords are stored in hashed form, and access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No system is completely secure, but if a security compromise affects your information we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Your rights

You may ask us whether we hold personal information about you and for a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to us using it, in the ways set out in POPIA. To do so, contact our Information Officer using the details above. We may need to confirm your identity first.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
